About Monet's haus
Meet the CEO
My story began at 5 years old when I faced a very rare skin disease, vitiligo. In turn, I experienced bullying, never being able to fit in, acne/ hyper-pigmentation through my teenage/adult years, and low confidence. I was told to hide, never make a fuss, and that my skin would never be the standard of beauty. Little did I know, that makeup and beauty would develop into a burning passion that fueled me to fight for what I wanted in my life.

To change my mindset, I began to live by this quote I created:
”Change the beauty standard by claiming authenticity. Beauty is kindness, intelligence, and most importantly confidence and no one can take that away from you.”

I am from Tampa, FL, but I have been calling Atlanta home for 15 years. I was born in December (Fun fact: I was born on the same day as Jay-Z) and I am a proud sagittarius. I attended a performing arts high school and sang for many years before becoming a freelance artist and beauty influencer. Some activities that I love are singing, watching movies, traveling, trying new food and of course everything beauty.

My Career Start
At the early start of my career, my love for the beauty industry soared in 2015. At this time, I was competing in pageants, going to Georgia State as a full-time student, and working my 9-5. I was determined to work harder than I ever have and I was able to find myself in makeup. Makeup became my outlet and something of my own that made me an artist. Makeup kept my creativity alive and supported me in some of the lowest places in my life. It helped me to connect with people and engage more. Makeup was my way to create a safe space to uplift and share other art. This soon blossomed into Monet's Haus in 2019.

I’ve created this company because I want to inspire you to look and feel your best no matter your circumstance. To know that accomplishing your dreams and feeling included all starts within and can be achieved. The standard of beauty is not defined by everything the media portrays, it's about what you bring to the world as an individual. Beauty is about being able to live free and without limitation. It's about finding yourself through creativity and spreading inspiration no matter what your features look like.
We are all beautiful. We are all worthy. We can all take up space in the beauty community. We can all challenge the standard.
If you have made it this far, I challenge you to repeat after me:
"Change the beauty standard, because beauty looks like me."
With Love,
Chari Monet xx
